It was just a few days ago, May 24th to be exact, that we closed on the sale of our ranch. To date we have spent ZERO nights in our house. It became quickly apparent that the house needed MAJOR repairs! Since then the large oaks (the masjor source of problems) have been removed. The house has been completely gutted, lots of wet saw and jack hammer work has been done, the roof has been completely reengeneered, many brick repairs have been made and rock haas been laid. Several yards of concrete have been poured, and several more are needed! After all this work we are still NO WHERE close to being done! However, we will have part ready to live in this week and we are excited. As of today, May 29th, 2011, we are completely moved out of our old house!
Let's Call These Before Shots...
Let's just all agree that the place looks pretty rough. Yes, it most certainly does, but as wise person once said, "its all about location, location, location." Location combined with real potential make it a worthwhile investment. Stay tuned for more pictures and hopefully before too long, some after pictures!
The Work Goes Slowly...
If any of you are fans of home remodeling television shows, then you know that Murphy's Law is in full effect. Anything that can be wrong, will go wrong. It is just the way it is, thats to be expected. The house is 80$ gutted, but that has been on hold since I realized that the roof needed massive repairs. For two weeks I have been removing metal, stripping shingles, debreding rotten wood, and engineering a new roof line. Needless to say it is going slow. However, the good news is that when it is done it will be right, and will last a very, very long time! If you have suggestions, or would like to lend a hand just let Pat know and we will get together on it!
